In times past, as I searched, quite hard, for love,
Friendship appeared; but was cast far aside.
The mind reasoned, as the beating heart strove
And affection came duly to abide.
Pain, character and such opposition
Overcame lust and love and the heart quailed.
By then, friendship had no strong position;
But in time, it by tried reason prevailed.
However as shitty luck would have its say,
Love crept, in time, into the minds of friends,
And, eventually, ground its own way,
Therein it festered and changed night to day.
So now who can tell what on what depends,
And what can be prevailed on what to stay.
